HIPPY

Home Instruction for Parents of Preschool Youngsters

HIPPY is a home based school readiness program for parents of three, four, and five year-old children. Home Based Educators work one-on-one with parents in their home or parent group meetings showing them how to teach the HIPPY curriculum to their child.

HIPPY knows and understands that a parent is a child’s first and most important teacher. Given the proper skills, the language of early childhood education, developmentally appropriate activities and lots of encouragement a parent is able to prepare their child for a lifetime of learning.

There is no cost to participate in HIPPY if your family qualifies based on eligibility criteria established by Arkansas Better Chance guidelines. There are several ways families may qualify for HIPPY:

~Family Income

~Developmental Delay of Child

~English as a Second Language

~Low Birth Weight Baby

~Individuals with disabilities

~Teen Parent

~Education Level of Parent

~Family has history of Substance Abuse

~Family has history of abuse or neglect

(If already enrolled in a ABC Pre-K Classroom there are additional ways to qualify and the child can be dually enrolled in both programs.)
